nows heres a fight a fight. i think joey is fighting for his life as monzon is a monster. does the slick joey g out box and out fox the hard hitting monzon?
Its not often you hear Monzon described as a hard hitter. Joey would get stuck behind Monzons jab and loose a decision.
Amazing that people forget how hard a hitter Monzon was..but as age and arthritis took him over he had to modify his style and become a punishing, long range ring general over the 15 round distance. That right he used to assassinate Nino Benvenuti with speaks of how hard a hitter he was.
Monzon would have decisioned Giardello in a strategic battle over 15 rounds. he would have maximized his height and reach advantages to the max whist exerting his superior strength over the last 5 rounds. It would have been faily close for 10 rounds however, but he was so much stronger than Joey.
I think Joey, as the boxing wizard he is - - , poses plenty of problems for Monzon and makes it hard for the Argentinean to find him but then he would himself have problems to overcome Monzon´s jab, and distance game. It would be an awkward chessmatch with not many punches thrown and landed I think. In the end Monzon´s harder punches, roughness and better pacing take it in a rather close one. 9-6 or something.
Wizard vs General. Depends where the fight takes place. If it takes place near say a water feature or a volcano, then the Wizard's water and fire magic spells are super effective. The size of the terrain is also vital. The General gives march and morale boosts to all troops on the battlefield, the bigger the armies, the more of an advantage it becomes. Whereas the daemons and minions the Wizard can summon have high attack stats but low defense, making them perfect shock troops in a skirmish but less effective in a pitched battle. The Wizard is perhaps the weakest magic class to tackle a General with. The Warlock's strengths are in attritional damage, which would be ideal against the low health but numerous troops he brings to the table. The Shaman specialises in nifty little spells like march blocking spells and other annoying stuff, which would also be ideal. But the Wizard's unique magic strengths are in psychological attacks, affecting morale, causing fear etc..bad times for the Wizard, as the General is immune to psychology and also grants this immunity to all troops within a 12 inch radius. So basically, Monzon is all wrong for Giardello. Easy UD.
