    That's pretty crazy.
What were your thoughts on both fighters at the time?

For me a perfect example of brain over brawn. Physically foreman was more than a match, he just wasn't wise enough at that stage of his career. I don't think he'd ever be !

Muhammad said that nobody was better against him at cutting the ring off than George was.

That's why I put George up against so many heavy s and have him winning. Obviously he wasn't perfect and he did lose bouts but the ingredients were there with him to be unbeatable. He just lacked the ability early on to pace him self. He was overly confident in him self as well that he could walk in and ko anyone. But he had all the physical attributes to go on undefeated for many years. But you know the story Stevie, along came muhammad.

I thought Ali would get there first with his straight punches.George never did have any head movement.I expected a decision win, for Ali.
I'm no sage, I've got it wrong many ,many times. My Dad picked Ali to beat Liston, I didn't!

Once he fine tuned his pacing and relaxed , not throwing for the fences with every punch, he was frightening. If he could have got that down pat when he was prime he would be top 5 all time imo

Yeah Ali beat the greatest George there ever was. I've always asked - how many fighters in history could have survived all those opening barrages?

George lost a lot mentally after this loss, he was made that way. He felt he was invincible anf conveyed that in the ring. Post Ali he dropped mentally and fiddled style wise as well. He never found that blend, split between Clancy, his own beliefs and third party opinions as well.
