Four punch combo was great, but I'd love to see a real time film of the 6 or 7 punch combo that Dempsey dropped on Tunney that led to the Long Count. People need to see this stuff when comparing Dempsey to CW or HWs of today with respect tomhand speed. I'm wondering what somebody who is finishing off a new book on Dempsey would say about this film. Probably that Willard was old, fat, a bum, with a China chin. Anything to disparage Dempsey.
Unfortunately the new norm is discrediting guys like Dempsey and Louis. A real shame. Put both of them in the ring at the same time against the likes of Tyson Fury and they both lose lol. It's really unbelievable
Great job Rez..... It's amazing how the boxing fan of today thinks that Dempsey & Louis would fold under the brutal attack of the "safety first" boxers in this day and age.....incredible!!! Dempsey was once called "The most dangerous unarmed man in the world!" Someone said that he wouldn't make it past the first round against Michael Dokes! Where do they get this stuff? Laughable!

China chin is nuts, and no fighter who gives an honest effort should ever be put down with pejoratives like bum. Dempsey is impressive, but Willard is open to questioning about what level of fighter he was by this point, other than being big.
Right after this clip ends Willard while still on the canvas turns to the referee and gives a look of "please help me" little did he know the savage beating that was coming his way in the next 2 minutes of that round.
Great clip. This is the best clip of this knockdown i have ever seen. Dempsey gets harshly and unfairly criticized on this forum but he was terrific.
Actually though most sports fans think alot of guys like dempsey, louis etc....at this forum not so much but the brits are not big fans of the fightin irish and their decendants... dempsey and louis rule....all the rest drools
