That was a beautiful shot...great awareness from Steele...and even out of position, he was on balance and delivered maximum power. Impressive.

As i've said before, Steele is ahead of his time imo. Awesome pugilist.

Superb stuff. Steele doesn't get the credit he deserves. He was of the highest quality. A fantastic fighter.

Wonder if those Ukrainians / Soviets studied Steele and the like? It's amazing how gifted fighters throughout the years will adapt similar movement patterns. I know for sure Anatoly studied Tyson, but can't confirm any others.

I still think Steele has at least a 50/50 chance against SRR

honestly, on his best night he gives any of them an argument imo. He may not win them all but he wins far more than he loses

Such a natural, quick timing adaption. Born fighter.

The more I see of Steele, the better he looks. I really need to find longer fights of his.

these excellent bits of film ALSO prove the Worth of these Old fighters, where most of the Film Footage is terrible...

there are lots of excellent bits of footage too, but sadly most of it is such s hit e. that far too many people right off past fighters. no, No, NO!

    and once again here's proof.

as I always say, "it is the Film that's S hit, NOT the Fighters.

great movement and every bit a fighter was Steele, also, even though Gus was not quite his best then, he too was still a top and noted fighter then. Great win for Steele.

And that's no slouch of an opponent he floors here.

Gus Lesnevich. As in, the future lightheavy champ.
