Need Klompton in on this .. curious to know if Greb's muscle development is solely from cardio, pull up/sit up/ push ups reps, stretching, boxing workouts, jumping rope, etc. .. or did he hit the weights hard too?? If someone else knows, please advice
You are right physique over function today skews expectations....I loaded semi trucks with beef 8-12 hrs a day 25-30 yrs ago and never looked like a bodybuilder but I could handle weight all day and I was a lean 170-180 lbs my muscles we're purpose built yeah I had muscle but disproportionate same with other labor jobs and athletes etc.....aesthetic muscles are balanced but not made for endurance....the muscles of endurance athletes are long and sinewy without bulk...muscles consume oxygen...in his case like many fighters his biceps are genetic and are indicative of a good infighter....normally fighters built like him have great inside grappling ability and lots of speed
But this thread is about physique (not function) and there is simply nothing freakish or extraordinary about Greb’s. Nobody would pick a thin endurance athlete and rave about his freakishly huge and well-developed arms (nobody I know anyway). And it certainly doesn’t follow that someone with fuller triceps or biceps with higher peaks would necessarily have any less stamina than someone with arms like Greb’s.
If you haven’t worked out in a while, and then train hitting bags, you’ll probably notice that your bicep is more sore than all the other muscles by a good margin.
Ah, maybe it’s just me then. For me I can barley move my biceps if it’s my first workout in a long time.
My reply was too the other posters comment. We are talking about the physique of a boxer not a body builder so I keep my comments in reference to the topic of the type of athlete.
Hit the Heavybag hard for 10-20 Rounds, for like 5 years + SOME push ups, pull ups dips, and you´re body groß muscles everywhre. A Tennis Player have more Biceps than Geb, just nothing special, he is lean and in shape..
