Hearns, when he was tko'ed by SRL, was criticized severely for not knowing how to hold....so it was back to the Kronk drawing board, where Emmanuel Steward taught Tommy how to hold, like he would one day teach a certain Ukrainian heavyweight the same skill. I'd say Tommy certainly learned well from the master, eh?
Deduction or not, it's what you have to do to keep in the fight. You don't get a chance to win flat on your back.
Exactly right. Lessons learned from the SRL loss were not wasted. Pretty sure he tied SRL himself up at crucial times in their rematch too.
