    The first time Abe Simmons fought Louis for the Title he was coming off a loss to Jim Thompson a guy who was 15-11. The second time they fought the Title Abe was coming off knockout loss to Lem Franklin who beat him easier than Joe did. So I don't see how this knockout is suppose to be impressive. He knocked out a big slow lumbering oaf.

    Could be wrong but I don't think OP was saying that it was a particularly impressive win or knockout--he was just admiring the aesthetics of the final punches that led to the knockdown. What's wrong with that?

    The actual fight is hard to watch though as Louis batters him from pillar to post for 90 seconds and Simon basically staggers around the ring on weak legs for a whole minute before Louis finishes him off. https://streamable.com/d0fe2

    I like the bit where the referee waves the fight off and Abe Simon holds his own face in despair and then calls the referee a bum for stopping it.
