    Marciano was not the first or last fighter to fall over trying to punch some one. Just about everyone else has too. It is a silly criticism.

    Patterson was a serial leaper.

    None of them punched like Rocky.

    Especially Wlad and Lewis.

    Since Rocky was so small and had a shorter reach, he was able to produce more leverage in a shorter amount of time. Which is why he threw some of the best and most unique punches you will ever see on film.

    He could throw his overhand right as a perfect circle above his head. Wlad doesn't punch like that.

    But we have seen lots of the guys you mentioned fall over or lose their balance badly from punches. Probably not as much as Rocky in his early days because of stylistic differences.

    You can't call his balance deficient when he was the HW champ for years. His style didn't lend itself to keeping him perfectly balanced, that's all.

    If he punched like Wlad he 100% for sure wouldn't have had any balance issues.
