Ramos was shot by then, but yes Nunn had very good skills.

I remember Ramos being extremely hyped but unfortunately he didn't develop and come thru. At one stage The Ring said he might be the hardest hitter with either hand in the division, which didn't end up showing either.

    Nunn had some serious talent.

I thought Alex was getting the buildup throughout 81, 82

but then had to pay the piper for not being able to live up to it

too bad but how i loved that Kinchen fight. one of my favorites still

That was the man to beat RJJ @ MW, IMO.

Nunn might just be the most naturally talented fighter I've seen.

Brixton bomber i may have to agree, Micheal had it all for a while. He really was a smaller version of a young brash Ali, he was elusive and glided in and out of the danger zones whist punching his opponents with crisp laser like accracy. A dispute with Dan Goosen over money was the tipping point. Mike went his way and a couple of fights later he ran into James Toney. Never got to rematch James as he was too dangerous and Toney knew he was fortunate that Michael had turned up underdone, apparently a few years after their bout in the gym Toneys sparring partner didn't show,so Michael and James started sparring. They had to stop the session as Michael sat James on his backside. Nunn and Toney get on really well and it will be great when Michael finally gets out of prison in the next few years. My two favorites from this era where Hagler and Nunn. Not many better than these two?

Nunn was enormously talented and a very tough match up for almost anyone .. would have loved to see a rematch w Toney .. would have liked to see him vs Hearns as well ..

I'm thinking Michael may have had Thomas measure, not much diffence with height and reach and probably a more rounded version. It depends on what Michael turned up. Not many of the supposed big boys wanted much to do with Nunn as the chances of getting beaten were high and the money on offer paled insignificance compared to Hagler/Hearns/SRL/Duran. Prime Nunn on his game was a difficult customer, not sure if i have seen a better boxer at 160.
