If only you knew, I was a massive fan of Tyson and I've got every fight of his on DVD including lots of amateur fights. I'm sick to death though of hearing every excuse imaginable for the man.

yeahi believe you thats why i used the ""
i think his problem was he just never had the mental make up of a fighter, he just had talent and ended up being a fighter but he was never really a fighter in his head like an erik morales or an evander holyfield those guys were meant to fight. He had psychological limitations that kept him from realizing his potential as a fighter. I dont think he was "meant" to be a fighter. And thats ok most people arent ment to be atg level fighters. Tyson didnt really enjoy fighting or training for most of his career. but for the purposes of imaginary match ups i make my "predictions" based on the best version of the fighter which includes the mentality and motivation.

In a way you're right. I mean the menacing look and persona was an act that he copied from the likes of Jack Dempsey and Sonny Liston. Even though he could be callous and evil he was very sensitive and lacking in mental strength and confidence. Being the World's Baddest Man just didn't come natural to him at all.

Tyson always fought bigger heavyweights 6'4 230+, an average heavyweight today might be 10pounds heavier and a couple of inches taller, bur for fighters like Tyson all that means is a larger target.
Tyson would be the same today as he was in his era, he'd smash everyone to bits, they'd probably be even more intimidated of that kind of fighter today than they were in his era.
Taller fighters dominate today but theres hardly any emphasis on infighting these days. Great in fighters from the past including Tyson would have great success in this era just like they did other era's.
