Turpin was a monster puncher.

 

I live not far from Leamington spar .Turpin would go up town at the weekends and pick fights with the local thugs and beat them up this was when he was middle aged when most are taking up golf.Randy was a nutter.

 

Watched the fight, Cockell was hindered by making weight but that takes nothing away from Turpins win.
I liked the wink that Turpin appeared to direct at Cockell from the corner, while the ref was giving the count after the 2nd knockdown.

 

Turpin was partially deaf in one ear .The only deaf world champion is Italy's Mario D'Agata,Gene Silent Hairston was a good contender who was also deaf
