Okay, I tried stabilizing and speed correcting footage from Sharkey-Carnera 1.
Let me know what you guys think of the speed, because I basically had to eyeball it like a drug dealer without a scale.

Here is a good minute from Round 1 where Primo is mostly in control.

Here is the end of the fight in round 15. The edges of the frame are wobbly, but the action between the fighters is mostly stabilized, which let's you see realistically how sharp the movements are, and the distance it encompasses. Especially Sharkeys head movement.

Carnera parries well. His main weakness is the lack of head movement and or dropping his jab which cost him vs Baer. Baer from round one is loading up on his right waiting to land it over that low left.

I gotta say I don't know if you're great at cherry picking footage to make this guy look good or if he really is somewhat better than how he Was portrayed for years.
Yes he's a little awkward how he lungest with the Jab but he circles ok and he moved back rather quickly on one or two of Sharkey's thrusts. Nice footage.

Haha, well the source footage is here. So you can decide for yourself.

I'm also happy to clean up other parts of the fight if anybody wants to see.

I chose these segments because they were polar opposite parts of the fight.
The first being Round 1, with both fighters fresh, and Primo taking control.
The second being round 15, both fighters fatigued, and Sharkey dominating the action.

No lineal champion is a bum.
In world class boxing, you've always needed timing, range, reflexes, speed, power, IQ. There has always been "levels" that transcend textbook boxing technique.

I was also surprised when I viewed better footage of Primo. He has good agility, good power behind his long arms, good speed and defense.

Jack was such an oddity, on his good days a match for most champions in history, and on his off days, geese. One thing I've noticed about the two in films is Jack's condition, on the better days like this he looked toned and his muscles in shape while on his off days everything from his posture to flabby looking overall is evident. I believe this Jack would have beaten the improved Primo of their second bout also.

I'm glad some one else noticed he didn't look as toned for the second fight.

"Carnera was a much better fighter than I gave him credit for. Of course there is a lot of controversy relative to his bouts but, be that as it may, the fellows a better fighter than given credit for.

Carnera's style and his reach, you've got to find a way to get to him, well I did that the first time. The second time I realised I'd just do the same thing again, but I didn't give him credit that he might improve. He handled me with ease. He picked me up bodily and placed me over near the ropes. Those arms were like limbs of a tree and, when he put them in front of him, there was nothing to hit." -Jack Sharkey.
