Louis invariably stopped fighters once he had them hurt. That is the ability to finish an opponent (and his fast hands and power were assets that allowed him to accomplish this), hence he had finishing ability. Louis seldom got wild or overexcited as many other blokes with power and fast hands do when they hurt an opponent and miss out on a stoppage opportunity.

"Finishing ability" isn't some mystical made up trait I don't think. To me it's the gift of being able to take advantage of a hurt opponent, close the show and go home early. Maybe you see it differently but that's fine too.
