Louis took the shot well considering that it caught him cold. You can see that he didn't brace for the impact at all. The second hook didn't have the pop the first one did.

Louis took the first punch well, but I am a bit surprised that he was caught so easily. It was quite a wide hook, and telegrapHed. I suppose he was just human like the rest of us.

    Love the clips. Great job.

Have to agree as well. Galento was a tough customer for a few rounds though. He lost to all the best men he faced, but one had to respect his power and awkward, brawling style.

Dude, Tua would have no chance. He might land a couple good shots, but Louis is way beyond Tua's league.

I literally cut this clip off right before Louis comes back with a big punch to halt Galentos attack. After taking two incredible left hooks, Louis immediately took control of the fight again.

Ike handled Tua. And can't punch nearly as well as Louis. Louis is the greatest puncher of all time, and would easily find openings in Tua's guard, and would KO him.

    Different leagues.

Actually, they were roughly the same size. I haven't seen enough footage of Galento to compare the rest of the criteria, but he had a damn good performance against Louis.

I arbitrarily picked Tua's name because he was short , stocky, and known for his left hook ,don't wet yourself over it.:patsch

He was the Mayorga of his day, in many respects. :good

(Comparable personalities outside the ring, and with moments of proving to be surprisingly formidable inside despite reputations for crudeness...to say nothing of their shared affinity for lighting up stogies during training camp)

First one was a great punch (putting aside the fact that it was cartoonishly telegraphed). Galento's weight was all wrong in the second hook though and I would be surprised if it carried nearly as much power.

The first hook was definitely better, but the second one was all wrong? Did you see what it did to Louis?

Galento had absolutely murderous power, and it tells when you look at the reaction of his opponents.

I have never seen anybody shake Louis like that, and he fought a lot of murderous punchers.

He was the only guy who ever really backed up Max Baer.

The first shot, the real head-turner where the punch goes through the target, is a crazy punch to take from a man of that poundage.

    Yes, even a fat one.

Louis adjusts to those deadly left hooks:

By the way, look how fast Galento is throwing those those power punches.

Actually he looked like he packed quite a bit of lean mass at least on this fight. For Galento I mean.

reznick. If we talk about legacy then yes!! Louis is worlds on tua.but h2h is totally different when we talk about men of different eras. Ike ibeabuchi was 35 pounds heavier than louis being both the same height. And dont tell me the classic stupid excuse of " different nutrition and training etc" ike was much bigger and stronger than louis i dont care about the motive. They were like they were, period, he had bigger frame much more musculature he took a much better shot than louis.Luis got hurt by small guys and knocked out. Tua did hit worlds harder than schmeling... Saying that he has no chance is biased and absurd
