Even the best of fighters get hit with shots that we all think they shouldn't get hit with. That's why they fight the fights.

the same size? Tua was a human tank at 230 pounds and galento was a porky at the same weight

Only a very superficial similarity though--Tua wasn't remotely as limited or crude as Galento. Not even close. The boxrec descriptions of some of Galento's fights have him missing punches so badly that he falls down. He lost rounds and even fights to men who Tua would have sought and destroyed within seconds.

Question for the Galento fans: was he capable of throwing fluid multi-punch combinations? (I don't mean the kind where you lunge, reset, lunge, reset)

Not necessarily. Just a sequence of punches where he keeps his balance throughout, without having to fall forward. Like some of the punches Tua throws between the :37 and :57 mark (edit: or many, many other times) in this video:

Tony did not have near the skills of Tua. That's fairly easy to decipher. But Tony knew what worked for him and it worked pretty damn well. He walked around with that left cokked low, too shots and waited for his opportunity. His records seems to say it worked.

And sometimes guys like Galento are harder to fight than more orthodox boxers. Look at the trouble Ali had with Bonavena or Hagler getting nailed by Roldan; neither fighter was slick or pretty but both were a right handful! So was Galento, whose power was for real.

I'm just talking head to head. And I'm not adding any weight to Louis. I'm talking about him as-is.

Dude Ike being 35lb heavier than Louis is not a reason for why he beat Tua and Louis wouldn't. Doesn't matter if Ike was 50lb heavier, Louis hit way harder than him. He had faster hands, way better defense, faster counters, better ring generalship.

Louis also had an amazing chin. He fought a handful of great punchers. He absorbed massive punishment by Max and Rocky before getting knocked out.

Cooper KD on Ali didn't expose Ali's chin. There's more to it than that.

Tua was a great puncher. Saying he has 0 chance is a bit of an exaggeration. But I would feel sorry for the man who bets money on Tua to beat Louis.

Look at my last gif where Louis dodges 3 quick left hooks from Galento. He throws three power punches with the same hand at lightning speed.

I'm not a Galento fan so I wouldn't know. I'll give you this though: Tua was, despite his shallow resume, one of the most feared fighters of his era. Galento wasn't. People make fun of him here because of his weight and his clumsiness. Well, they did same when he fought. He was something like a 7 to 1 underdog against Louis, and although he really stepped up to the task and surprised everyone by flooring Louis the truth is that for most of the fight he was badly beaten. Louis stopped him in four rounds and had they fought again it probably would have been quicker.

So you use the overweight version of tua right? I am talking about a prime 226 tua.
