    An excellent technical performance. Here Crawley rocks Blake with a right set up by a distracting triple jab, and shows some excellent defensive maneuvers.

    I was just thinking about Crawley the other day, Loved that guy. Early eighties I think, very good boxer.

    Blake was hyped. He had a very exciting style - busy, good power, hand speed, very mediocre defense. He was on CBS quite often , actually CBS had a lot of great 135 lb. fights in the early to mid '80s. Anyone else here remember the NFL strike in fall 1982. CBS and NBC filled up the free air space with Boxing.

    I only found out about him recently. I heard that he came up with Donald Curry, Gene Hatcher and some other quality pros. Was the Dallas/Ft. Worth area a hotbed for boxing back then?

    There was a group of i guess average top 10 lightweights around this time that put on some awesome battles. None of them overly dominated anything but Harry Arroyo was good enough to win a belt and make a couple of defenses. Rockin' Robin Blake, Charlie "White Lightning" Brown, Charlie "Choo Choo" Brown, Tony Baltazar, Ruben Muoz Jr, Melvin Paul. They were quite decent fighters and there were quite a few wars among their encounters. Saad would remember them well. It was a great time for 135 pound action.

    Crawley v. Gene Hatcher was another (October '82 on CBS Sports).

    Any fight recommendations? I've been meaning to check out Arroyo in particular. Just caught a couple "Choo Choo" Brown fights (against Munoz and Boza Edwards) this week.

    Arroyo beating Brown to win the title was decent. Blake - Munoz was good. Most times any of them met you had good to great fights. Boza and Alli got in among them too. Action packed little mini era.
