Probably one of the most if not the most dedicated heavyweight of all time in his pomp. He perfected moves for hours on end, Evander Holyfield mentioned Tyson is the only athlete he knew that trained harder than himself.

Yep, and in all honesty we will never see a HW in our lifetime as athletically gifted as Mike.

His footwork is ridiculous. He's gliding towards the end lol

I love the way he steps off at the end to open up an angle for the right hook.

Nice the way his feet don't leave the canvas. They retain contact throughout. He could get away with that square-on stance because his centre of gravity is low and it helps his leverage punching from both sides.

Tyson was amazing to watch in his prime, especially if you look beyond just the big knockout punch. Footwork, head movement, creating angles!

One thing that I believe led to Buster Douglas and Holyfield beating him is that it seemed Tyson like to show his whole arsenal within the first 3 rounds. Anyone agree?

Nope, Wass is right. Holyfield claims he knew Tyson was special, being the only one who worked harder than himself in the gym.

I remember the excitement he brought to the heavyweight division in the 80's. I always tried to make sure to catch his fights, sometimes even taking the night off from work.

He was a special fighter at the that time. He slayed a lot of giants. I think it was hard with his particular style to continue to be effective as he aged and was affected by outside influences.

Compare that to what he became.

Vs Holyfield he was crossing his feet (schoolboy error)
