A slug is faster than Angulo yet he gave Lara hell.

Remember everyone when the fight was stopped Angulo was behind by 1 point on 2 cards yet was up on the 3rd.

Lara went life and death with a tough punchbag.

No but it just makes you wonder when people claim Lara will pose Golovkin problems or even win.

 

Lara fought very brave against Angulo because I'm sure he underestimated him, and against Canelo he fought scared... Im sure against GGG he would not make the same mistake he did with Angulo.

 

No but as I've said before if you struggle against Angulo, which he did and fight scared against Canelo, which he did how on earth di you think he will perform against Golovkin who hits like a mack truck and is an excellent boxer in his own right?

I'm not against the fight at all, Lara is an excellent technical fighter but he struggles against pressure fighters. I'm just being realistic.

 

I think Golovkin beats Lara but it would still be GGGs best win and we would be able to better gauge GGGs abilities against a top notch fighter.

 

Lara and Rigo are the best defensive fighters in the world, except when they are getting knocked on their butts!

GGG has the D, never gets knocked down :good

 

Personally I would rate a victory over Lara on par with Lemieux, Geale and Murray.

Stylewise obviously different but I can't see what Lara has done that makes him so much better.

 

For me personally, I would rate Lara a little higher than both.

 

The fact that Lara's skill level is considerbaly higher than Lemieux, Geale, and Murray makes Lara a better scalp on GGGs resume.

 

And I have no problems with people saying this.

But,

Whilst Murray has no stand out wins he arguably could of and should have got the decision against both Sturm, Abraham and Martinez. Murray is a solid fighter.

Geale has victories over Mundine and Sturm but he has a glass heart quit against both Golovkin and Cotto.

Lemieux has the blips against Rubio and Alcine but has good wins again St Guerrerro, N'dam, Rosado and Tapia.

Lara should have got the decision against Williams, should have lost to Molina, struggled against Angulo and Vanes and lost to Canelo. Only against Trout has he fought without any controversy.

Again I'm not disagreeing as it's an opinion but I think whichever way you look at it they're alot closer than people realise.

 

Again he's struggled with fighters with less ability than the 3 mentioned.

I'd pick Lara to beat Geale, toss up with Murray but slightly favour Murray but I think Lemieux walks right through him.
