CBS got pummelled - just look at the 2 faces at the post fight interviews.

Very pleased myself that he managed to hear the final bell and play his part in a great fight.

I bet many on here thought CBS was going to wipe Zurdo out after watching the first round.

 

Fell asleep and missed first 3 rounds. Gave everything to Ramirez from 4 onwards. Very nice fighter, Bivol did well to beat this guy. Opetaia smashes him though.

This fight needed to be in UK. There were like 20 people there.

 

Johnny Nelson talking utter shite as usual. Calling Ramirez ordinary and saying it was frustrating. Nothing frustrating about it. It was a beat down by a boxer who is far superior to CBS.

 

It was a sustained beat down. Some of the shots CBS took were awful and it’s one of those where his durability has actually probably resulted in a far more health damaging night than it would have been had he been brutally KO’d in the first half. He won’t be the same after this 12 round battering.

 

Ramirez clearly won but I don’t agree it was a beat down as such. I scored it 116-112 Whilst Ramirez was clearly better, most rounds were competitive imo and CBS was coming forward in all of them.

CBS landed many power punches but was up against a very durable, quick and skilled opponent.

 

He’s a proper gentleman in an era of pure crassness in British boxing and global boxing tbh apart from the Eastern Europeans who tend to have a lot of class.

 

That’s my point though, CBS’s durability was unfortunate in the sense that it has resulted in him taking severe punishment. It definitely was a beat down. It was extremely one sided IMO. Watch the fight back and I’ll be surprised if you come away again thinking it was competitive.

Completely agreed. Added to the fact that he's already been in lots of wars and I think tonight will leave a lasting damage.

Wouldn't be surprised if he retired. Can't see what other big fights are out there for him? And he doesn't seem like the sort to just keep heading towards brain damage for the sake of it.

 

Ha literallly said to myself this isn’t going to last long but have had a lot of beers in my defence, though I call more or less every fight wrong.

 

The scorecards would suggest it was reasonably competitive. You obviously don’t agree. Quite a few rounds were close, but admittedly Ramírez was the better man.
I will be interested to see the punch stats.

 

I never thought I would see the day when a British boxer would be more crass than any American, but then the eggcelent Connor Benn came on the scene.

I’m not a big MMA fan but love the HW title fights. Rarely disappoint in the UFC.
