Valdez is chopping outward from a bowed position with his jab, from low to high, and following with a big right hand on the chin. Garza is roping out a much less straight and crisp jab, and stepping left, throwing combos at the body while Valdez is turning.

Valdez is getting hit a bit more now as Garza has figured out he can lump in body shots with both hands while circling in close and then swallow Valdez up in holds or just grind into him to halt any spring-loading action or movement to set up a jab. Valdez adjusts, putting his shoulders up by his chin and dropping both arms to catch body shots, and hurts Garza with a stiff right hand and left hook. Valdez hurts Garza again. His knees buckle and he goes down. Ruled a slip.
