Well, this could be an interesting fight. Karpency is an underrated boxer. Trains in his own gym (in their church from what I remember), uses only his brothers/cousins/neighbors as sparring partners yet he gives tough fights to top boxers in the division. If you underestimate him, he will make you pay for it.
Fought only once in 2017 and once in 2018 (both fights against subpar opponents), but his last fight was only several months ago, so he should be in a relatively good form.

Ramirez should vacate, whats the point in taking this point if he intends to go back to SMW at some point?

He intends to go back only if he loses – that's how I understand their plan.

The career of Gilberto Ramirez is so disappointing and irrelevant.

39-0 ....haven't heard of any of his opponents besides Hart and Zuniga (the shell of fulgencio zuniga)

I really, really could not care less.

At this point in his career, dire opposition from Ramirez.

The kicker is that he is just scraping by these guys. Ramirez hasn't looked good in a long time.
And Tommy will likely make him look bad again.

They should make Zurdo v Yarde a good step up for both

Wow, I'm genuinely surprised by so many negative remarks about this fight (the opponent, in fact).
Who did you expect Ramirez to fight in his first LHW fight? A champion, like Loma did (vs. Linares)? But Ramirez is not Loma, he didn't necessarily fight monsters at 168 neither. So, if not Karpency, who would you rather see in his place? Chilemba? Some European LHW? Badou Jack (with that horrible cut)?
Frankly speaking, there's one guy that Ramirez should have fought instead. And it's Sullivan Barrera. But the fight is too risky (losing to Barrera would be a severe blow to Ramirez' LHW career) so they decided to find someone easier. And Tommy Karpency is not an awful/terrible mismatch. It's not impossible for him at all to go full distance against Ramirez or even to win (somehow maybe if he's lucky, :] ).
