whats up with this guy? 37-0. seems like his level of opposition is going down not up. i realize the 168lb is busy with the tournament an all. but he needs a big fight like now. great unifications fights out there.

Well, he tried to fight Golovkin, but Little G was afraid to do it.

He's got Angulo on the 30th, of course.

After that, I imagine he'll get a shot at the winner of the Super Series.

Otherwise, I'd LOVE to see him face Benavidez. Those two could well set a record for total number of punches landed in a SMW bout.

But Benavidez hasn't fought since Feb, and has nothing scheduled, which is a bit odd given that his best options will all be unavailable until early winter, at best.

I think they're trying to round his record with several soft touches so he's 40 something and 0, at which point they'll begin using it as a gimmick. (Not that they don't already) Once you have that kind of "on paper" resume the casuals gobble it up.

Forget what? Golovkin said for years that he'd fight anyone from 154 to 168, then when Canelo was out, and Golovkin needed a high profile opponent for CINCO FRICKING DEMAYO, Mexican Ramirez offered to fight him, and Golovkin pussied out.

He should have joined WBSS otherwise what's the point of staying at 168?

He sparred Bivol couple years ago, he doesnt want that 175 heat.

Hell, the guy I want to see fight Gilberto Ramirez is David Benavidez. Benavidez is a star, in my opinion. That guy has nothing but upside. (I confused the two earlier when I praised Ramirez.) Ramirez is very good but Benavidez has power, timing and speed.

Absolutely! Both of these guys are powerful & aggressive. And yes, Benavidez is special. I think he's probably one of the 3-5 best (overall) fighters in the game right now.

    - But Ramirez is tough as hell, so the biggest challenge David will have faced.

One of these guys, however, will probably end up fighting the winner of the Super Series. That leaves the other one out in the cold until possibly 2019.

I could not get over the hand speed Benavidez showed in finishing off a tough Porky Medina. I want to see more of Benavidez.

Zurdo is fully deserving of his place in my top 10 most handsome boxers rankings, is talented and a top 3 SMW, and has a win over Maxim Vlasov aka The Baddest Man on the Planet.

Has anyone seen Alexis Angulo? He is the jokiest 23-0 you will ever see. Slow as molasses with zero defense but has succeeded in knocking over 20 cab drivers. Will get laughably exposed Saturday against a guy who actually throws punches at him.

we all know ggg messed up by saying he will fight who ever from 154-168 . that back fired. ggg was focused at 160. i think ramirez should of targeted some other belt holders at 168. ramirez should of got it on with benevidaz, uzcategui, degale, even plant or truax . its about that time for him he needs a big fight. a guy in his weight class.

Talked about fighting Golovkin but was content instead to fight top 30 fighters instead you mean.

Ramirez is quality but his opposition is not.

Ramirez has looked lackluster in a couple of fights. He fought a guy on the Valdez/Marriaga under card out here in Carson and nearly put the crowd to sleep, myself included. I caught his next fight on TV and wasn't all that impressed.
