Two excellent 115lbs fighters, who rarely get their dues.

Harold Letterman: Roman would jab. use the ring, and move side to side. But without question, Galaxy would catch him around the eighth or ninth round. Even if he had to come from behind to do it.

Bob Yalen: Roman would dart in ands out, jab, punch to the body and head, and pick off Galaxy's blows. In condition, Roman wins the Unanimous decision.

Mal Karwoski: I'm not taking anything away from Galaxy, but in a real close fight, nine times out of ten, I'll take the Latin fighter. Roman by decision.

    What is your take?

I always very slightly sided with Galaxy to come from behind and stop Roman..especially over 15.

Even though Gilberto impresses me more and is more skilled...I think KG has the style and physical ability to eventually get to him.

Pretty close call over 12 though, I think Roman could make the rounds and if he does I reckon he gets the verdict..provided he Galaxy didnt finish all over him with a few knockdowns the tighten the gap...but my pick would be for Galaxy to eventually get to him in the 10th or 11th.

If Pical can see 14 rounds with Khaosai, give me Roman by UD.

Roman's excellent multi-directional movement would be too much for the slow footed Thai.Might have to survive a few rocky moments though.

I think he definitely would have some rocky moments, to put it mildly. I don't buy into the theory that is Galaxy is terrible simply because of his level of competition. Your synopsis on Roman's biggest attribute is good though Lora, Roman doesn't blow you away skill-wise, but his work in the middle of the ring is very effective, he has a good defence and knows how to maneuvre around that area working his counters and jabs, leading with hooks etc. I would probably favour him in a struggle of a fight.

I think some of the more harsh criticism of Galaxy is generally just because of the higher pedestal he's often been put on compared to all of his contemporaries.

He's still one of the more formidable super-flyweights, just not quite as good as Roman imo.Too methodical in his movement.

Come on, you know better than that. Different fighters, different results. Saying that though, he should have had Pical out of there a few times throughout the bout, it was a brutal 14 rounds.

That is the key for me, in this fight.

Galaxy will be shuffling forward behind that pawing right hand, but there will be nothing to shuffle towards. Roman will keep moving, turning and pivoting away from Galaxy. All the while, stepping in with hard clean punches.

Luckily for Galaxy though, he can take what Roman has, but Roman may not be able to take Galaxy's best. Now I'm not suggesting that Galaxy will KO him if he lands, but Roman could be hurt and dropped. I think Galaxy can definitely give him some rocky moments, although Roman recovers well from them.

Another thing is Roman has a superb left hook and the angle he creates for it will be superb against a southpaw.

I don't think many think of Galaxy as a terrible fighter, just overrated in many circles.

I think Galaxy could stop Roman. He was a monster physically, and Roman wasn't. However, I'd have to make Roman the favorite because of the reasons mentioned. I think Moon would've always beaten Roman, however. He's a more difficult matchup for those types, in my opinion.

Yes i fully agree that in terms of how celebrated Galaxy is then he's clearly overrated. It's just that it seems a lot of the time if a fighter is overrated then he is then severely underrated as some kind of counter mechanism, maybe i jumped the gun here with the 'terrible' word.

A perfect example is this- Floyd Mayweather has never fought a great defensive specialist, therefore posters claim this means he would definitely lose if he did face one. There are absolutely no grounds to make that claim. It's the same as this, but instead of the stylistic issue it's a class one. Galaxy has never faced a great 115 man, therefore he is overrated and would lose to one if he did come across one. I don't see it like that.

I never said that you do either, i just wanted to nip it in the bud, sure i failed at that though.

well i am going for galaxy to win late i think he will force the stoppage ,but i do feel galaxy himself may suffer a KD not hurt but he may well be caught coming in square and a little off balance ,this did happen once or twice in his career

I dont think Roman could keep Khaosai off all night. I think he'd be well ahead on the cards until Galaxy's strength and power take its toll.

    Galaxy TKO 10.

Interesting. I can see Galaxy either scoring a late TKO, or Roman winning a fairly wide decision. Let me think.

    Great matchup.

Roman was a very clever boxer.

Galaxy was way stronger and had a great chin so he would get inside.

I see him trapping Roman on the ropes for long stretches.

Roman's durability and defense keep in him the fight.

Galaxy wins the mid to late rounds for a close decision win.

I honestly see this being similar to his fight with Sung Kil Moon. Moon pretty much walked through Roman and battered him, something Galaxy was also capable of doing. Roman would have some success early on but Galaxy would eventually grind down Roman to a stoppage IMO.
