    After spending most of the latter half of his career in the meh phase, Watanabe had well and truly entered the CBF stage by the time of the Roman fight. In top form Jiro would have given a much better account of himself and imo, won quite clearly, though not without it being competitive and close.

    In terms of h2h ability, if we take both at their best, then yeah Gilberto was just a smidgen off Jiro I'd say. But when you look at both of their careers, I'd say Gilberto had the better one between the two, all things considered.

    Watanabe was the more talented, Roman made more with his lesser talent.

    Roman was a determined guy want he kinda like JMM in that way.

    was unlucky in the Lacier fights. And i really rate Lacier.

    just watched some Watanabe and was impressed withhis stand up classical boxing style. The Asian stand up fighter i have seen.

    His offence was very potent has he had snapping straight shots and combinations seemed to flow off of these straight punches effortlessy.

    He did get very lazy and lacklustre.

    His defence was average just abit of head movement and blocks but he could sometimes forget about it for a moment or 2

    all in all i was impressed

    What fights was it you watched?.

    I thought Watanabe had a good defence usually, especially his defensive footwork.His main weakness technical weakness was his regular neglect of his jab as anything more than a rangefinder imo.

    he had a good defence like yousaid (and i forgot to mention) his footwork and movement was good defensivly i just tought he could just let himself relax defensivly for a moment

    the fight i watched was vs Gustava Ballas
