Good call! That was indeed a great fight, as was the first Bassa-McAuley bout. Another good flyweight tussle was the Masao Ohba-Orlando Amores bout along with the Horacio Accavalo-Effren Torres fight. I only have the last five rounds of that bout, but if those last five rounds are any indication as to how the rest of the fight unfolded then it must have been a helluva fight.
Let's throw a few more out there: Robert Quiroga-Kid Akeem Anifowoshe Caveman Lee-John LoCicero Ricardo Lopez-Rosendo Alvarez 1 and 2 Barerra vs. Jones 1 and 2 Morales vs. Zaragoza Zaragoza vs. Banke (any of their fights) And so on.
Another fight that completely slipped my mind was the Iran Barkley vs Robbie Simms fight, now that folks was some BRAWL!! I was reminded of this bout this morning as I was finishing up some dvd`s for sweet_scientist and decided to include this fight for him as a filler on his last dvd. I haven`t watched it in some time, but after viewing it again I must say that this fight is a must for any collection, terrific toe to toe slugging by both men.
What made that match great, was because it was slient, once sound came around, boxers outside of Ross and Marciano, boxing went down hill.
Since I am on my Alan Minter kick again... Minter- Antuofermo I was a great battle and one of the most difficult fights to score that I have ever seen!
