TBF Golovkin and Mayweather are kinda top of the class fighters.

Agree with the cherrypicking and deckstacking though.

He's not even the best "Mexican" defensive fighter in history.

Disclaimer: He has a very solid defense, but let's not get carried away

Great stuff. Canelo's defensive is not fully integrated, as you say. He becomes a bit stuck in the mud. Be it slipping, or preparing counters, there is this stop n' start nature to him that you don't see in boxing's true wizards.

Nice point about the projected guard. Inoue does this more now, fishing for leads.

His performance in the Jacobs fight in the first few rounds was great. He looked so slick. Too bad he couldn't keep it up the whole fight.

No one could keep up Canelo's round 4 performance against Jacobs longer. He made Jacobs miss "38 times in a row". You need more offense if your opponent is high skilled fighter like Jacobs. We aren't in Locche era which had full of bums.

I remember when his nickname on here was "stone feet." Has come a long ways. He shifts and pivots in a defensive manner among or the best of the current crop.

Agree. Canelo has worked extremely hard in the gym and it shows.

Canelo unified SuperMiddle in less than a year. 4 fights total, 3 undefeated champions and 1 "no-hopper".

It that's cherry-picking, then we need more of that cherry-picking in boxing.

He looks one dimensional and useless against people with a pulse.

He also looks negative and scared when fighting equals like GGG

Yeah Canelo edged it just like GGG edged their first bout but roidnelo with his home judges got a gift.
