    Tomorrow will mark the second anniversary of his KO victory over Johnrey Dandal "Hitman" Loreto - since which the SBD has fought exactly once, stopping Toshiki Kawamitsu in July. Five minutes on the clock, in 24 months of the prime of a prospect among the best in the world right now. I don't believe he currently has anything scheduled yet for 2022.

    Pandemic boxing. Especially sucks since if weight bias was taken away, he might be considered the #1 pound for pound prospect on the planet. At least, he's probably the one who will win and hold a title for the most defenses.

    The last news of Ginjiro Shigeoka by his big brother Yudai Shigeoka :


    In an Instagram Story, Yudai posted a photo of a thousand origami cranes made by the family, a traditional symbol of prayers for recovery. Alongside the photo, he wrote this hopeful message:

    “Starting today, Ginjiro is off painkillers. When we kept talking to him, he started moving his lips slightly, yawning, and it felt like he could hear us. He also blinked. I think his consciousness will gradually start to return from now on.”

    He also shared:

    “It looks like he may be able to move from the ICU to a general hospital ward soon. It was a slightly reassuring visit.”

    Yudai then made a request to his brother’s friends:

    “I have one request for Gin's friends: I’d like him to listen to more voice messages. Many friends have already sent some, and we’re very grateful. Even short ones are fine, please keep sending them. We let Gin listen to them every day.”

    He ended with an emotional note:

    “So many people are worried about Gin, and I can really feel how loved he is. As his brother, I’m proud. Please continue to support Ginjiro.”
