This is the main event at the Oktagon 20th Anniversary show on April 11th in Milan. Both have fought and defeated the same man, Erkan Varol, within the past three months. They have both also fought the legendary Buakaw, with Petrosyan managing a draw and Kehl walking away with a controversial victory after Buakaw departed the ring (thinking it was scored another draw but not realizing an extra round had been called for under K1 rules, and thus failing to answer the bell for the 4th) Petrosyan is far more decorated and was considered among the best pound for pound technicians in kickboxing for much of the last decade, but is exiting his prime while the very promising and powerful Kehl is entering his own. Time for him to avenge that embarrassing loss to Andy Ristie from his resume. I believe if he were 100% healthy the fight wouldn't have gone down that way, I'm not one to make excuses for fighters but Petrosyan was clearly not himself that night. And from what I read he was fighting injured.
Nothing 'embarrassing' about it. Ristie is a monster. GP got caught. Nothing embarrassing about that.
That's the thing, it's not that he got caught, he looked way out of his element. My memory on the fight is kind of foggy, but was he not behind on the cards as well? I remember him losing the first two rounds pretty clearly, and he was well on his way to losing the 3rd before being KO'd.
