Giovanni De Carolis is a 31 year old 6'1 Super Middleweight with a 24-6-1 12 KO's 1 KO loss record. Born in Roma, Lazio, Italia and fighting out of Viterbo, Lazio, Italia. Giovanni should be the walking embodiment of why you shouldn't judge a fighter by Boxrecing him, he like an Italian Salido is aging like a fine Lazio wine, improving with each and every outing. Is he a fringe contender at Super Middleweight incapable of beating some of the top guys? Maybe. But he's a damn good gatekeeper/journeyman regardless, who is capable of testing the meddle of many a young fighter in need of an exposing. He started his career at MW and was KO'd in 8 by Max Bursak way back in 2008, after that came a series of razor close SD's and MD's and even one UD which was damn close, many of which no one has seen, so we don't know if they were robberies in Italy or not, but with fights that close, there's a good chance they might have been. After that he racked up a series of wins over journeyman finally leading him to a match with King Arthur Abraham, now if you look at the official scores which are shockingly wide, that doesn't tell the whole story of that match, in reality De Carolis was fairly competitive throughout the match and in the end AA won it by 116-112 or maybe 115-113, like he does most matches. De Carolis had he done a little more could have edged it, at least in the fans minds, but that match must have told him he can hang with a top guy and it lit a fire under his ass. After a few decent tomato cans he took on decent Italian based Senegalese fighter Mouhamed Ali Ndiaye who he beat the hell out of, leading him up to his journey back into the heart of Deutschland. He was brought in naively as yet another sacrificial lamb to feed to the obnoxious annoying young punk Vincent Feigenbutz, who despite being KO'd in his second match was being sold as the next big KO artist after he tore through a series of bums. Well De Carolis didn't get the memo, and seeking his redemption, this trip to Germany he wasn't going to half ass it.

De Carolis came in and dropped Vinny in the first round, hurt him a few times throughout the fight and bossed him around like the punk ass kid he is, by the end of the match De Carolis in most spectators opinions even most Germans, had clearly won the match, well as usual he was robbed blind losing a UD, that thankfully wasn't all that lopsided. Automatically the rematch was set up, and this time De Carolis would not be denied, he picked up right where he left off, and beat him around the ring, and then in the 11th he put the cherry on top by stopping this brat, and taking away any chance at yet another robbery. Then it was time for another German hypejob to get exposed, Tyron Zeuge, who I rate a little higher than Feigenbutz, and once again De Carolis brought it landing the harder shots and outworking the young Zeuge throughout much of the fight, Zeuge did injure his shoulder, but nonetheless, De Carolis on most people's cards won the match. And what a shock in Germany the match was declared a Majority Draw, with Zeuge winning on one of the cards. But at least this time he left with the belt. He's become Sauerland's perpetual thorn in the side. Now can De Carolis beat any other top guys at SMW, its a possibility, many of the closing in on top guys are in need of a real test, and who knows how long he can keep this up. Groves, Murray, Chudinov, Jack and a rematch over AA is possibly doable, at the very least he'll make them work their ass off for it. So Check Out This Roman Gladiator In Action.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Damn! I love the titles of your threads, mate!:good

As for De Carolis he is a teak tough cookie with good stamina and a good chin.A true elite fighter? Nah! He is more the kind of fighter who fights tooth and nail and makes a true top dog sweat hard to earn his paycheck but who seldom upsets the apple cart against one of aforementioned elite fighters.
A very decent and good fighter he is,the Italian,a guy who never caves in but he just lacks the touch of magic every truly great champ or elite fighter has.
Anyway! Pro boxing needs fighters like him, too.Besides he his a likeable human being and I am glad for him to make some bucks while he can call himself a champ.I guess he is next opponent will be AA or a rematch with Zeuge.

:good Thanks Odo, your assessment is pretty much spot on, he's seems like a great guy, and of all the underdog having success stories this year, his and Joe Smith Jr.'s is by far my favorite.

Zeuge might be a hypejob, but the kid has a pretty good chin, unlike that cromagnon Feigelabutt. De Carolis needs to train for a KO every time he fights there, he needs to target AA rematch next. It would put a cherry on top of his campaign in Germania if he could once and for all be the man who puts a fork in King Arthur.

I want Abraham stopped and retired, I thought Ramirez may of done it, I want sturm beaten to a pulp and retired thought chudinov would do it, well he almost did and got shamefully robbed. I want the thug Juergen breahmer to have his inbred face punched into oblivion, beterbiev should do it.

And no I don't hate German boxers, but these old cheating robbery given *******s need to be shown the door in embarrassing and brutal fashion. German boxing revolves around these 3 and won't grow until these lot leave.
Mind you I'm not a big fan of Huck either but glowacki took him out.

Agree with you across the board, except for the Huck part.:toney I love Marco for some strange reason. I have my fingers crossed that after stopping Ovill he'll take out The Bomber. And make it a trifecta.:hey:yep

He should try to get a fight with one of our glass jawed American SMW's like Ellis, Jackson or Jesse Hart.

De Carolis vs. Rocky would be nice, and probable KO victory. Rebrasse, is tough as nails, it would be another SD;patsch

I like rebrasse took bombs of smith, fielding and groves. He battered fielding lol and got robbed. However rebrasse is a road warrior he would probably have to go to Italy if he wanted giovannis title.
But yes I think Carolis would beat fielding.
