I don't know if you are refering to me because I said he quit, but that is the way I see it, I'm not trashing anybody and if you read my post I gave calderon his pros. he was d better boxer but Segura took his will, and he didn't look old at all, d problem was Segura, he never stop throwing punches from all angles and coming forward all d time, no breaks just putting presure on Calderon, the other side of d coin is that Calderon didn't have the power to hurt GS, he connected with some hard shots but GS just walk through. No shame in losing the fight against a younger and stronger fighter that want it more, but it did look like he quit in the 5th and the last round too.

Not necessarily. Who knows how far Segura will go but Giovanni has already accomplished more than Calderon had at this point in his life.:deal

Agreed. Like a highschool teen-ager vs a kid from elementary. Weight disparity is clearly shown here. No-match. No-mas. :smoke

One thing to note is Javier Capetillo has the number of Puerto Rican champs. Capetillo was able to devise something (plan/strategy?) on his boxers that made the Rican champs goes down to their knees. Cotto kneeling to Margarito and Calderon kneeling to Segura.

People criticized a 35 year old champ for quitting when he clearly had enough more than they criticized Segura...

    :patsch****in idiot.

Calderon is 35 years old, has no power what so ever, is only 5 feet tall and when he fought at 105 he was considered small and thats the smallest weight class in boxing. He just fought probably the best 108 pounder in the world and he also happens to be the hardest puncher at 108 and probably the most relentless. Calderon has been on the decline for a few year also. Still a great win for Segura but Calderon proved himself as a great fighter a long time ago.
