Giovanni Segura v Roman Gonzalez?

Gonzalez isn't a one-punch KO puncher, rather he wears his opponents down with heavy shots to the body and head.

This would be a toe-to-toe slugfest, Gonzalez has good skills but he's quite flat footed and always looking to get forward. Segura doesn't do **** on the backfoot. I think Gonzalez has a bit more class about him, think his cleaner punchers will force a stoppage (cuts?) during the 2nd half of the fight.

What is Gonzalez's chin like though? :think

 

Dunno Gonzalez, especially lately, has shown proper 1 punch power.

He is also very fluid with his overall movement, with his head and applying angles to his offence. His transisition from body to head punches in seamless also and he really puts those shots together lovely, especially now as he is throwing the right more and more.

Think its good but then he hasn't really fought any top class punchers, not that there is much at Minimumweight.

Gonzalez's use of angles on the offence and better head movement may allow Roman's punches to push Segura back. Especially if Gonzalez will be getting off first with his cleaner, straight more accurate combo's, as I do.

Saw Roman Gonzalez for the first time on the Rendall Munroe undercard, was very impressed the way he didn't waste many punches and every punch he threw had serious power behind it.

Only 23 aswell, will take a seriously good fighter to beat him IMO.

 

I pay a lot of attention to the lower weight classes and Ive followed Gonzalez for a while now so maybe im biased but I think he handles Segura rather easily. He doesnt have the quickest of feet but he still has a pretty good defence and he picks his shots beautifully. I look at Segura as a bit of a mini Margarito. Hes just going to keep coming forward but doesnt offer much else. All along Ive been saying the only thing Gonzalez has been lacking is the use of his riht hand but, as Greg said hes started using it to good effect in his last couple fights. Id pick Gonzalez in 8/9 rounds but I think hed legitmately stop Segura rather than a pull out.

Gonzalez mark2 Carlos "Chocorroncito" Buitrago fights tonight in Nicaragua. Hes very young and hasnt fought anyone decent yet but he looks pretty good in the few times Ive seen him. Is really quite similar to Gonzalez of a couple years ago, even down to the refusal to throw the right hand

 

Segura walked through Calderon but he'd better respect Gonzales punch power or he'll be horizontal in 6 imo.
