This is one of the best fights that can be made in the sport. However, I'm not sure how long Segura will continue to fight at 108. He looked pretty bad at the weigh in for Calderon and with talks of him moving up to fight Miranda, it doesn't look all that promising to me. 1 huge question mark will be Gonzalez chin, he hasn't faced any legit punchers (Niida and Takayama, while solid fighters and victories for Gonzalez, don't fit the bill), and to be honest, I thought he was dropped by Rosas on the Munroe-Nishioka undercard. That seemed more of a balance issue than him actually being hurt though.
Gonzalez picks his power shots better than segura in my mind. Segura could overwhelm him by offering zero space insde but if Gonzalez can get forward to him he would stop him i reckon provided he avoids a wild swinging right from segura
It HAS to happen. Gonzalez has better technique, and the pop to keep Segura off of him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him take Segura out (Calderon stunned him remember) but, at the same time, Gonzalez hasn't fought any big punchers, and Segura has a hint of Sung-Kil Moon about him; even shaving people he can **** 'em up. 50-50 fight but Gonzalez appears to have much more equipment.
This fight HAS to be made! both are great fighters, but gonzalez looks really special at 23 years old, he posesses the better skills and like segura has big power, however segura is in his prime and would be the stronger and fitter man, i think gonzalez better ring craft wins him this fight but it would be a classic no doubt.
