Segura plans to move up to flyweight after Calderon. Concepcion cant get a good fight since everyone is ducking him. I expect a lot of hype for this matchup tomorrow after Segura beats Calderon again and Concepcion impressively destroys Hernan Marquez early.

    Who wins at flyweight?

Segura gotta fight Roman Gonzalez first, but Concepcion is one helluva fighter and this is the 2nd best match-up possible involving Giovanni. Stylistically this reminds me of Margarito-Martinez, though El Nica has some impressive skills and athleticism, he's a bit too green defensively and takes a lot of chances. Of course he can punch and Segura is open for flush shots, it would be unwise however to brawl with the Mexican but he could be dragged into a punchfest.

This trio is very interesting. Gonzalez is the kind of compact puncher who can get inside on the defensively flawed Segura and blast him out with short crisp power combinations but would have problems with Concepcion on the move. Luis however would have problems keeping Segura off of him and deal with the pressure to a possible late fight breakdown.

3 fighters, 3 exciting and vastly different styles and 3 different winners and losers in as many fights, this could be a classic rivalry. Nice thread.

This is the fight I want most after the Calderon/Segura fight.. Don't know if Segura will fight Gonzalez, but I do know that he talked about moving up to flyweight where Concepcion is.. Great fight if it can be made.. Concepcion is having a hard time getting anyone to fight him, especially after crushing Kaovichit (sp?), but I know Segura will be willing to step up to the plate..

Unfortunately I don't see Segura-Gonzalez happening soon. Segura is moving up to 112 and Gonzalez has just moved up to 108.

Concepcion is a fighter I like :yep. Offensively he's special, great power and punch variety. Segura-Concepcion would no doubt be a right war but atm I see Segura taking it, wearing Concepcion down late.

In a year or two it could be much more even.

What I want to know is why is segura ducking Mercito. Mayol beat calderon twice and segura is fighting him again? Segura needs to man up and call out mercito. Mercito has been waiting for a title shot and segura should stop running.

There's always that long shot>>>>>>>Calderon pulls one last great win and puts on a clinic on Segura.

    Segura/Calderon 3:think

Every great fighter always has one great fight left and Calderon is a great fighter. Ill be rooting for him but its very unlikely he pulls the upset.

Well I guess this one is off the table for now. Marquez did exactly what I expected Segura to do, but I damn sure didn't expected from him. So Concepcion was stopped in a great fight where Segura knocked out Calderon in 3 via brutal body punches.

This fight just lost a lot of its luster.

Good day for Mexican boxing. They built themselves a nice little empire at the tiny weights. Only guys like Pong and Roman Gonzalez stand in their way at flyweight and below.

Concepcion got beat by a Donaire leftover lol. It just proves that ND is indeed a special fighter.

Guys like Darchi, Mthalane, and now Marquez got belts after they got sparked the f out by Donaire
