I'll give him credit, when he does something that is actually deserving of credit. And not a moment before.

I guess I've dug myself in a hole here.

I'm just believe that Khan didn't have too much to prove at British level with his amateur record and that he would get his challenges earlier. Which is what he's doing.

I read the original post more as "people believe Khan was avoiding challenging fights" as opposed to "Khan has tried to skip his way to the top".

I believe he has skipped to the top, he's made the most of the cards he's been dealt. Fair play.

Khan did duck Murray and Thaxton. He'd fight them but he never forced Warren to make the fight. Both were/are worthy opponents.

Nevermind, they were his Junior Witter.

I hope Khan has shown Warren that losing isn't the end. You just have to get back on track and rebuild. Khan is further along than prior to the loss.

mrbassie, you're avatar pic is scary! haha...
and my thoughts exactly...kahn has ducked thaxton, murray and romanov and it now looks like he's moving up rather than rematch prescott too, AND it was only a few weeks ago he was saying he wanted the rematch to avenge the loss!!

I can see Tyson in your avatar thinks ur a plonker as well ... so khan has the option of fighting a guy whose already KO'd him and could be anything or fight at a weight more suited to his physique for a World title .... erm bit of a no brainer me thinks ....

mryeags...it was kahn himself who was quoted telling warren 'i want prescott next, make it happen', thats not an option its a ****ing demand. warren also said he's moving up cos there's no worthy fights for him at lightweight but thats bull****, there's plenty of fights at lightweight for him, he's strong at lightweight and not exactly struggling to make the weight is he, him and warren are just desperate for a title to prove his critics wrong. personally i dont see any reason for him to move up yet. as for you insulting me for simply expressing my opinion, **** you, it just shows what an arsehole you are.

It was obvious Khan was never going to get a lightweight shot. Look at the top 10, the top 20 even in the division. Khan had little chance of landing a title at LW at any point in the next 5 years. Warren knew it.

Kotelnik is perfect for Khan and fits the profile of all Khan's opponents to a tee (except one of course :)) Poor KO ratio, and the wrong side of his peak. Khan by UD. Easy peasy. He'll defend against no marks for 10 years then retire with a 'legacy'.

One thing I will say is that Frank Warren is an outrageously good business man and promoter. I'd love to have him on my side in business dealings. Manouevering a fighter into a world title shot in his second fight after being despatched in the first round by an almost complete unknown is verging on genius.

Prescott can always move up and fight Khan at LWW. Think Prescott has earned the right to wait till he wants a shot at Khan. Wouldn't actually make that much sense for him to risk it now. If Khan beats Kot then Prescott can re-match him for a major title. More money.
