Right on. I've been saying the same thing for months. Will he go down in history as an ATG right next to Sugar Ray Robinson and Willie Pep? No. And who cares. He's achieved a huge amount and took on the biggest threats in his division when many (especially many on this board) sneered that he wouldn't. And it still wasn't enough for those people. You can't please 'em all. Calzaghe will be retired and enjoying pints at the pub while some on this board will still be whining about his resume, the fighters he supposedly ducked, and, of course, his slapping. Get a clue.

Calzaghe is shot and over the hill and although I am not a JC fan I think he deserves his exhibition fight. I am hoping RJJ KTFO Calzaghe because I am a big RJJ fan and dont give a shite about pavlik.

Im with you 100% he has earned his shot at a career payday. No one, not one person on this site would pass up that chance personally.

the sad thing for people like you and joe's legacy is that kessler is **** he has'nt beat anyone and was scared to fight miranda so joe's resume is **** in its self. Hopkins name but we all know he was going on 44 and if you take the slaps out (borderline illegal) then hopkins beat his ass.

And what does a Kelly Pavlik bring ? An even shittier resume !!

I love it how Hopkins is too old now but no one was beleiving that **** leading into the fight after coming off 2 impressive wins in Tarver and Winky !! He beat Hopkins fare and square get over it ..

Decebal wtf Pavlik is more proven than Kessler was and Pavlik is top 10 p4p!

Pavlik faced way better comp than Kessler in Taylor (x2), Miranda, Zuniga and Zertuche while Kessler beated no top 10 except Andrade and Mundine....

Pavlik is the lineal MW champ and to this extent is more proven than Kessler since he beated the previous champ (Taylor) while Kessler just beated Beyer and Siaca....And Mundine who is a joke.

Yes, Joe can pieck whoever for is farewell fight...whoever LEGIT. Not a past it RJJ who's best performance in years was a decision over a blown up welterweight at 170. **** man he needs to take on some one who should pose him some kind of threat. Pavlik brings this to the table. Bute brings this to the table. Dawson brings this to the table. Pavlik is the one who brings the most money and who is the bigger name and bigger threat but at least if he wins he will get respect. The fans don't want him to fight Jones and btw, Calzaghe can just retire now if he feels he doesn't have it anymore. But I will lose a lot of respect if he fights Jones because I will feel as if he disrespects us fans.

Kessler was talented man u gotta give credit where its due. His resume wasn't that impressive but he's still young and can do great things for the rest of his career. Don't hate on Joe's resume... I don't agree with him fighting RJJ but he is a good fighter nonetheless. He beated Hopkins fair and square because Nard was too inactive to get the nod but a prime Hopkins is one notch above a prime Joe and a prime Roy sends Joe into a coma.... Anyways, u get my point.

Well, you said that Hopkins was coming off two impressive wins against Tarver and Winky. My point is that he wasn't impressive at all against Winky and without that nasty cut Winky woulve had a better chance.

Impressive as far as quality of opponent ..Ugly ass fight against Winky but you can't deny the man his wins ..And you can't blame his age on his lost to Joe ..

Oh i see but winky was far from his prime weight and Tarver was overrated beacause of his knockout of Jones so those wins aren't worth that much. Don't tell me Hop was in his prime at 44. He was old and past it. Good win for Joe but not as much as a win over Pavlik. And as i said in a post prior to this one, a prime Hopkins beats Joe IMO.

Well, as I said, what I meant was that Kessler is a very well known quantity, he is proven, whether you think he's better than Pavlik and Dawson or not. Pavlik and Dawson might be better, but they are not at the level where you know exactly what you're going to get with them, I think. This is what I meant. :good
