Give Calzaghe a break! The guy's 36! He's proven himself and can fight whomever...

Can't give him a break no matter how hard I try. We know he fought Kessler and Lacy, that's what he is SUPPOSED to do yet he didn't really do that in his early days, just stayed and declined every half decent to major name that passed by in his own division with a title. Fact is, if both Lacy and Kessler didn't fly to Wales with their titles(Yes they were champions too) then these fights wouldn't have happened either and if Hopkins wasn't 43 and Roy 40 then those 2 wouldn't have happened either.

    Yeah, so what?

The problem is that Calzaghe is being held to a much higher standard by most of his fans than he himself holds himself to. That's not Calzaghe's problem, though, is it?

By giving us a break what you really mean is let Joe take back his words and pretend he never said them. Not going to happen. He said them, he'll have to live with them. He called Jones washed up and said Kelly was the fight he wanted.

Frank Warren is aware Joe Calzaghe is the most perfect boxer to set foot on our planet.

I am also aware of this fact.

When you are on the level of myself and Frank Warren you may be entitled to having an opinion. Until then be thankful myself or Frank Warren will even acknowledge your post.

Joe Calzaghe is the best boxer of all time. There are no sound counter-arguments, there is only speculation that he may indeed be beatable.

everyone is very beatable if they face the right(i.e. wrong) opponent for their particular style. joe is no exception.

But, he does have the right to fight whoever he wants at this point in his career, it is just that some would like to see him fight meaningful fights, such as with pavlik, rather than meaningless fights, such as would be with rjj.
