As a Brit Ive always said its an acid test fighting the top guys in their back yard "In their prime". Ricky has balls to fight these guys...2 of the greatest of Alll time , not this time that time but of all time!

For me he has been a brilliant light Welter Champ but hes bumped into this generations reberto duran, Manny is awsome.

You can hold your head up high Ricky, though you should have fought a couple of more Over the hill ATG like Calzaghe did ...you could have stayed undefeated.

    Isn't "prime" P4P a bit of a misnomer? I mean, if you're a P4P fighter, you're P4P, period.

Not knocking Hatton for trying his ass off against 2 elite fighters whatsoever, of course. I just always found it strange that people actually try to nitpick between different levels of pound for pound fighters based on age. If the guy wasn't good enough, he wouldn't be ranked there. I mean, you never hear of "green" pound for pound fighters. Either you're P4P or you're not, and once you're top 5 ish, it's pretty unanimous that you are since there's always some variance in the bottom half.

Calzaghe was supposed to fight PBF and Pacquiao?

I'm not a Calslappy fan, but it's not the guy's fault that the best fighters were not in his weight division, or even close to it.

Jones and Hopkins were around Joes division .....

Jones opted to stay in Wales...his excuse was he was scared of flying.

Lik ehe said in his book

" why would I fight Jones unless I was offered the crown jules" he was making easy oney and his promoter was milking it....i mean with the WBO title you can make so many bogus defences

RICK you should have stayed with FRANK WARREN!!!! lol

I think this thread raises a good point. I had tremendous respect for Hatton in the lead-up to this fight for admitting that he was too protected under Frank Warren, who, for my two cents, is the biggest **** in the sport. I generally don't respect anyone in his stable. Win or lose, Hatton is a true fighter because he took the worthy risks.
