Give Haye some credit: He gives the fans what they want.

    I am shocked at how many David Haye haters there are on these boxing forums considering some of the complaints I have heard them make about the sport.

    Here we have a fighter that is trying to create a buzz with his taunting and publicity stunts whilst at the same time he has the charisma/ motor mouth to make you either love him like some people like Toney or hate him the way some despised Nazeem Hamed.

    Haye shows the fans respect by taking on credible opponents/ real threats and exciting fans with devstating knock outs.

    At 22(21)-1 he is already in line to fight the main man at HW and that is impressive. RESPECT!

    In his 11th fight he took on the strong and very powerful Carl Thompson but ran out of gas. This shows that Haye is prepared to step up and not just pad out his record. RESPECT!

    He was European CW champion and fought the lineal, WBC and WBA CW in his 20th agaisnt a guy who had only lost once in 9 years. Haye KOed Mormeck in his own back yard. RESPECT!

    Unifys agaist Macaroni and outclasses him with a second round KO. RESPECT!

    What more does this guy have to do to win your RESPECT?

    These people can only hate his personality. Which I find bizarre, because its obvious to even the most simple mind that its tongue in cheek considering he usually has a grin on his face.

    What he's done (and is currently doing) as a boxer within relatively few number of fights is beyond question in this era.

    anyone who doesnt respect Haye is a dumbass,the guy hes good exciting fighter that will fight anyone.

    Unfortunately these dumbass people seem to be more vocal and they have more respect for fighters like Felix Strum a guy who avoids all the big fights.

    Exactly, he always has a grin on his face when he's doing it, some people either lack big time in sense of humour or would rather boxing was all nicey nice and completely dull. We need characters for gods sake and Haye has that in abundance.

    Wlad Klitschko is not less hated as Haye.

    But Klitschko steps in the ring with anybody out there, he is a World Class HW for 10 years now, he never trashtalked or disrespected his opponent unlike Haye. Thats the difference....

    Well, he is giving the UK fans what they want. Same as Froch. Lots of mouth. Maybe people outside the UK want something else from them?

    What like fighting the best?

    I think Haye's got that covered too. In a roundabout way which included excessive movement of the mouth...but bottom line is he'll get there.

    But that isn't what the hype is about. You guys have him crowned as Heavy Weight King because he beat one "stiff" at the weight after promising a "big name" as I recall.
