I give haye a ton of credit...he was the best cruiserweight in the world before moving up to HW...I don't give him to much of a chance against Wladimir though..Haye IMO has done nothing to show that hes a top 10 HW..Beat Wlad and hes arguably the best in the world next to Vitali....thats a big if though!
Well maybe he should have fought a shot to **** Hasim Rahman and taken 7 rounds to finish him, maybe that would have impressed certain people around here more? It's easy to belittle Haye after he's only had 2 heavyweight fights but don't forget - he achieved more at cruiser than WALDO has at heavy, and he did it in less than half the fights, what does that tell you :deal
we will have to wait and see if haye will give the fans what they want. he may get ko'd in 30 seconds for all we know.
At least he's got balls. Which is more than what can be said for quite a few fighters over previous years. 22nd fight and gunning for Wlad?? Hat's of to you my son.
all credit to him indeed. he is doing this to get a huge payday, make no mistake about it. i hope he wins in spectacular fashion actually. but he had better hope he doesn't put in a disgraceful performance because he will be the laughing stock of world boxing. remember haye is the one talking absolute crap and has instigated this bout.
What I find funny about this whole thing, that a lot of people are missing is.... Haye is his own promoter, he has to create a buzz about himself for himself. He doesn't have an Arum or a King. Yes, he likes to open his mouth and talk about himself, but guess what it's his JOB. It's worked, Wlad sees the public demand ($) that Haye is generating, that's the only reason he's venturing outside of Germany for this fight. Haye has done his job outside the ring.
i agree with most of what you say. haye is willing to put his balls on the line all the way and that's refreshing for a euro fighter. nobody will ever look back on david haye and say "nobody wants to fight him" and whiny bull**** like that from fans who dont understand that you need to take chances to get major fights. he talks a lot of **** for someone who hasn't really beaten anybody, but **** it - it's got the attention of the klitschko's - which can only be good for boxing because haye has the charisma to lift boxing's profile if, against the odds, he succeeds.
My only problem is if he succeeds too well in getting an early fight with one or both Klits. If he looses, the heavy weight division looses the excitement he has created. I think it would be better to let this build for at least a year. Gasp. Truth is out. I don't dislike Haye. Crap, my cover is blown.
