That's the fight I wanna see. Hopkins-Calzaghe will be an ugly fight like Calzaghe-Bika with Nard winning a close disputed decision.
Now I don't know if a 43 years old Hopkins can beat a prime Kessler but this is a good style matchup, they are about the same size. X surely will use every dirty trick in the book and will be a big step up in class for Kessler. You can't beat Hopkins only with a jab (Winky just found that out) so Kessler will have to work the body and outwork the old man (Kessler is much better than Taylor but Hopkins at 175 is not weight drained like he was against Eastman and Taylor at 160 so he doesn't need to take a lot of rounds off).
If I had to pick I'd go with Kessler by razor thin decision but If 42 years old B-Hop will beat the 28 years old viking he will be a top 10 pound for pound ever in my book.

It's gonna be a good interesting fight but it's not gonna happen. Bhops has very few fights left in him and he is looking for the big money fights.

But there's gonna be a bigger posibilty of this fight happening if Kesller beats JC.

True, Hopkins just doesn't need Kessler.

Kessler doesn't need a 42 year old has been. Kessler gets approx 5 mill. for hi next fight whil Hopkins is crying over the 2.7 mill he got to "fight" Winky.

Especially if Kessler beats Calzagh he will be the fighter from 160-175 that commands most money. Only exception could be Taylor.

Hopkins will do like he did after the Winky fight - he will hope to get Kessler interested so he can have a money fight. People got bored with seeing old guys fighting eachother as the poor ticket sales show. Meanwhile Kessler-Calzaghe i scheduled to sell 50.000+ tickets.

Yeah the Hopkins v Winky fight had no atmosphere.

Hopkins is finished as an attraction and so are RJJ and Winky.

Bring on the next generation like Kessler

    Agree. Hopkins is done.

Kessler is the future star of super middleweight, when he has finished business with Calzaghe. Luckily there is no rematch clausule.

Hopkins-Kessler would be a good fight, although I would rather see Calzaghe-Hopkins. And I think we will in 2008 since I'm predicting a Calzaghe win over Kessler - which of course is no sure thing.

If there is a calzaghe/hopkins fight, I'm not so sure it would sell very
well in america. Sure Hbo ppv would show it, but if hopkins/wright did
the numbers it did, I cannot see a european fighter(albeit an exciting one) doing much better. Hopkins sure as hell aint a draw. This fight might have to be in great britian. Or just not happen at all. If calzaghe
beats kessler then his next fight could be against chad dawson in U.K.
where chad would make a career high payday. Provided he can defeat
    diaconu.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you, but I struggle to see any win at the moment that's legimately possible by Kessler as being a bigger win for his career than a win over Hopkins.

Not Calzaghe. Not Dawson. Not Jones. Certainly not Taylor. Nor Pavlik.

Saying Kessler doesn't need a 42-year-old has been is a bit much. He may not need him, but the same can be said just as much (more so, actually) for Hopkins needing Kessler. Either or, a win over Hopkins does more for Kessler's career than a win over Kessler for Hopkins career.

Kessler by razor thin decision?, give me a break, this hype is insane. Bernard beats Kessler by one-sided UD, I'm sure Calzaghe will do worse when they meet as well and I have nothing against Kessler at all.

Yes I have seen him fight, tell me one thing super special that you see in him?, apart from decent power, I'm talking skills here.

The way he dismantled Beyer was pretty impressive.
The way he handled a very fast boxer in Mundine was special
The way he outmuscled and overpowered Andrade was also a good effort.

Wow, so much skills there, scary.

Beyer?, oh yeah, Beyer is a very good middleweight I must admit but did you notice the size difference in that fight?, I've seen that fight and Kessler looked TOO one-dimensional there, left/right/left/right with decent movement at best. Any fighter with decent power would've beat Beyer at Super Middleweight in my opinion, put him there against Lacy and he would've gotten KO'd earlier.

Mundine?, yeah Mundine is a good boxer but if it takes masterful skills to take him out then Sven Ottke must be Muhammad Ali.

Kessler is a good fighter but he doesn't possess any skills that would trouble a man like Hopkins nor Calzaghe, either one of those guys is WAY better than anyone Kessler fought, WAAAAAY better.
