I have no problem at all with him as a person. But he got way too many close decisions going his way for the wrong reasons (HBO, hype, undefeated). He doesn't deserve to be 2-0 against B-Hop that's for sure. He bacame middleweight Champion and a multi - millionaire because of Bernard Hopkins, who did him a favor and gave him a shot, and in return was robbed by the industry. Don't worry. If Taylor fights Bernard again, he will be very well paid for the beating he will take. I'll be happy that Taylor gets a payday, Bernard will be happy for erasing his fake loses, and everything will fall into the right place.
Chad won't be easy for B-Hop. He'll have to hold a lot, he'll beat him in a close ugly fight, and the judges may rob him again against an undefeated young hope. I actually think B-Hop against Taylor at 170 will be a much better fight. B-Hop will come really pissed to the ring, he'll have something to prove.
I think a catchweight of 170 would give Hopkins a better chance. It would give Hopkins maybe 5-10 lbs of natural strength over JT. But then again, Hopkins was 3 years younger when he fought JT. My instincts tell me it's going to be very similiar to the first two with JT's hand speed and combinations keeping Hopkins on the defensive and outhustling Hopkins while Hopkins still landing the more telling blows but not doing enough to win. Not one i'm looking forward to.
Calzaghe is the only fight out there for Hopkins in my eyes, unless Jones JR beats Calzaghe which i doubt. Dawson has had a good win against Tarver but thats about it, id like to see him fight Jones Jr before he gets a crack against Hopkins. So therefore i think the only realistic fight for Hopkins is Taylor III thats assuming he beats Lacy and then if Lacy wins he comes into the aquation.
Taylor UD, Bhops is 3 yrs older and slower and has less stamina, the guy just can't deal with fighters faster than him,
