A fighter at my gym reccounted a story about his old trainer. To sum it up, a fighter in his camp stunned his opponent in a fight, and with a full minute still left in the round the bell was rung. His trainer was outraged. After the 3rd round, and the decision was given to the other fighter, but his trainer stayed in the ring making a fuss. When all the fights had ended the trainer was still at it and forced the judges and other present officials to review the tape. Once it was established that the bell was rung 1 minute too early, the trainer started up with the notion of "Give me my minute back. Right now!"

So after a while they agreed to give him his minute back and fight for that minute right there at 12 mindnight with the arena already emptied. His fighter ended up still losing but he stuck to hs guns and backed his fighter like a good coach should.

I had never heard of anything like that before. Has anyone else encountered a similar set of events?

Yeah O, boxing can bring out some bizarre events. So much polotics in the amatuers and pros. It's so frustrating for these kids to give everything to boxing and then to get robbed.

This fight was just as odd! In Jan,1925 Jack Delaney flattened Tiger Flowers in the first round at MSG. The referee counted 10,but the Flowers camp insisted tiger just beat the 10 count. Fearful of a riot ensuing, Delaney agreed to give Tiger another chance. Well in the second round laser punching Delaney flattened Flowers again for good.! Flowers was ko'd two times in one bout ! Next Month in Feb, Delaney again Ko'd Flowers in the 6th round.
So Delaney set a record of koing a man 3 times in TWO fights...

Holy cow! Never heard of that Burt. Thanks!

And if those were shots to the head, I can't help to think of how dangerous that could have been for flowers. Getting knocked out twice in one fight sounds just aweful.
