Darn it, Joe Louis had a good chin. He stood up to Schmeling, while getting nailed repeatedly with rights to the chin for eight rounds.

He had a decent chin, but it was far from iron. Notice I said "better chin" compared to Norris "with an iron jaw" because Norris had a glass jaw whereas Louis didn't, but it was shaky.

Joe Louis with more speed. Could he keep all of his other attributes with more speed? I am not sure about that. Adding something to a great fighter might always take something else away, in reality?

Are you referring to foot speed? Louis had some of the fastest hands in the history of the division. Second only to Ali, Patterson, Tyson and Dempsey imo

Lloyd Honeyghan, just make him less of a ragamuffin.

You mean speed of foot. Yes, no heavyweight from that or any other era had speed of foot until Cassius Clay came along. But Joe had excellent hand speed.

Why do people rate Frazier so highly? Nothing amazing about being #3 in your generation. He beat Ali once and what else? Some contenders? Lol. Weak chin, left hook one trick pony?

Agreed. I wouldn’t say Joe Louis had an IRON chin but it was far from being glass either

Corrie sanders could have benefitted from TWO attributes which are namely a better chin and more devotion to training. But the man had amazing skill and natural talent

#3 means a lot when #1 and #2 are Ali and Foreman. He beat a lot more than just, "some contenders", and your assessment of him is just atrocious.

Please give the 60s hype up. These Frazier tier guys were NOT beating the Tuas, Mercers, Holyfields, Bowes, and certainly not Lewis of the 90s. 90s were brutal.

Holyfield, Bowe, and Lewis are ALL Frazier tier guys. You bring down the names of fighters from that era by giving no respect to Joe.

People knock Lewis here for 2 flash KO losses. Joe got beat up far more often and you're putting him on the same level? Less wins, less quality wins. He beat Quarry, Bugner and Ellis? And he's somehow Lewis tier to you.

People knock Lewis for getting 2 flash KO losses against who, again? Oliver McCall, Hasim Rahman, not exactly great names to be getting knocked out by, and sure as hell not comparable to Frazier only losing to Ali and Foreman.

"Joe got beat up far more often" against who? The only guy he really got "beat up" against was Foreman... Who also would've given Lewis a slow beating had the two fought prime for prime. The Ali losses were both extremely competitive and are in no way bad losses, unlike losing to McCall or Rahman.

The comparison about "less quality wins" is just dumb considering the fact that Frazier would've beaten out every single named opponent that Lewis fought- Lennox would likely do the same with Frazier's record but struggle against the same two fighters that Joe had, Ali and Foreman. They are obviously on the same level as fighters.
