I’ve got this… swap Troy Dorsey and Eddie Mustafa Muhammad’s desire.

Ring IQ and dedication are two pretty different things.

Give Wlad Vitali's chin and he's in contention for the best heavyweight of all time.

Wlad's chin is to look made worse by his extreme fear of getting hit. Never felt this was the case for pretty any other heavyweight who is considered to a be a close to top tier all time great. Even Against AJ at 41 when he fought so much more freely without pressure he took some nukes which he might not have been able to take when he was much younger.

But yeah it wasn't Vitali's chin for sure.

Noooo.Joe Frazier had to boil right down to 205 Lbs.Joe Bugner could punch when he wanted to.Ask Richard Dunn.
In fact Bugner gave Ron Lyle a very tough fight.Don't know why you're being so dismissive of Bugner.
As for Mathis ? I'd back him to beat the likes of Andy Ruiz. You know, that guy who beat Antony Joshua, and
who many people thought beat Joseph Parker.

Wlad with his brother's chin -- would put him in the running for #1 H2H heavyweight.
    Vitali with his brother's power
    Tyson with Holyfield's discipline
    Holyfield with Tyson's power
    Wilder with boxing skills
    Zhang with Fury's gas tank
    Toney with Hagler's discipline
    Hearns with Hagler's chin
    Ali with Holmes's career longevity

Realistically, he needs his brother's overall toughness and fearlessness too. But, overall, I agree. Wlad with an iron chin would be nigh impossible to beat.

Although, the really durable guys always seem to have the toughness and fearlessness. Maybe it stems from the chin? If a fighter is confident that randomly being caught isn't going to do much to him, it's a hell of a lot easier to take chances and fight like a tough SOB.

Gatti with a good defence would've been a H2H nightmare. He's relentless, he's a hard puncher, he take a shot very well, he's a fluid combination puncher, and he's a pretty good boxer under the tutelage of McGirt. Now make him hard to hit and you have a helluva fighter on your hands.

What do you think of this? Marlon Starling with Mayweathers dedication, pop him in Mayweathers shoes and he does as good or better IMO Futch called him the most difficult guy he ever had to work with in told… HOW about Manuel Medina with Hamed’s punch?

I do think that Ali could've stayed a contender until at least the early 80's had he not started to show signs of Parkinson's. The version of Muhammad that faced Holmes was terrible, but he actually showed up and fought a good fight against Trevor Berbick- Who had already beaten the likes of John Tate.

Ali’s health seemed to be going by then, Parkinson’s aside. Didn’t seem he would have been able to hold up physically into and through his 40s like some fighters have (Holmes, Foreman, and Holyfield being examples of HWs who have done it).

Seems to take a lot of luck to be someone who can hold up. Actually, in my list above, I think Holyfield would be the best example for luck, as he was in so many wars, even as he got older. Ali needed his kind of luck.

Just make Sam Langford six feet tall.

The irony is that if he had been six feet tall, he would not have needed to become such a complete fighter.
