I don't know how much more power would've effected Holmes’s career overall.

Holmes already had 15 stoppages in his world title fights. So I don't think power was really an issue for him even though he's not a monster puncher.

Holmes probably gets Spinks out of there in their 2nd fight with more power ?

But outside of that I don't really think his career would be too much different.

Toney with more dedication I still don't think beats the likes of RJJ. But he would probably have less losses at Light Heavyweight overall which is where he had his worst period of his career.

Hearns having an iron chin he doesn't lose to Barkley for sure. I'm not sure it alters his other losses to Leonard and Hagler though.

Hearns's chin didn't really let him down vs Leonard it was more he got wore down and had no energy left when he got stopped.

Hearns with an iron chin trading punches with Hager would be very interesting. But with Haglers ungodly durability he still may wear down Hearns anyway.

Lewis with an iron chin stays undefeated pure and simple.

Chavez with more speed in what regard ? Hand speed ? Foot speed ?

Norris would still have the issue of being a headcase at times though.

Remember he had multiple DQ losses which wasn't down to his chin.

 

To be fair that only happened a total of 3x, twice being the same opponent. Not counting the Sugar Ray Leonard fight where he practically did the same thing. Norris' biggest issues was his lack of control and chin but if I were to only choose one between Norris having a better chin or being more controlled I think having a better chin would benefit him just a bit more.

 

Norris with an iron chin, he'd be like a mini version of Tyson.

Hearns with an iron jaw at welter and light middle doesn't bear thinking about. A bit less so at middle if his height and reach are negated and thus his lack of fundamental defensive capability exposed, but still a monster there who would lose to very few fighters. Realistically though you might have to alter his physiology to improve his punch resistance, which then makes him a different fighter.

The Jones fight was the big turning point for Toney and really sent him off the deep end. I don't think he thought in million years that any opponent could make him look that helpless and stupid in a big fight. Extra dedication might have resulted in him not having to crash a load of Burger -Jim-induced excess weight off and thus not face his kryptonite while being weight drained, but it's still highly unlikely he wins that fight. If anything, he could have done with better being able to stalk and punch on the front foot.

 

Yeah, Terry had a penchant for hitting downed fighters. He even did same to Leonard but didn’t get pinged for it.

 

A stronger chin could or perhaps would make for some interesting domino effects otherwise.

Remember how Hearns turned boxer vs Ray - I mean, it worked a treat until Ray, in his own role reversal, eventually caught up with Tommy.

With a better chin, maybe Hearns would’ve remained with and looked toward expressly taking Ray out.
