I mean he throws punches with real authority. He also got the tko late so he carries his power.

He has some ok head movement and quite a powerful left hook. If he had a little more defensive skills and worked on hsi stamina and conditioning he could be a real solid guy.

He ate way too many jabs last night tho to be competitive with wlad or vitali. However he has some raw power and potential,

If he threw far more punches, he'd be a tough fighter to beat because he has enough power to change his opponents gameplan but his workrate his abysmally low. You can't bank on catching a guy behind the back of the head when he's dipping low in the 10th round every time, and for round and round, he wasn't doing anywhere near enough to force a stoppage. He was just throwing punches and hoping to land which is the formula for losses.

He has fast heavy hands and is good to watch but too small and technically limited to compete with the elite.

He is a woeful opponent for vitali.

It annoys me so much I mean I know technically it's wlad who's the champ and vitali who's the top contender but i'd just love to see him consistently fight top ten opposition and keep his resume going strong which will improve his legacy. Fights against gomez, sosnowski, briggs are all easy paydays and do nothing for his legacy at all. Stiverne is the same I mean he was being soundly outboxed by a 40 year old ray austin. This guy should atleast fight solis or a top ten opponent to earn a shot.

i felt that the guy was just seeing how many shots he could take, get in some rounds, and then when he had had enough, decided to end the fight. it seemed that he wasnt even trying until near the end, maybe kinda checking his own chin to see how hard of a shot he could take. something tells me last night is not indicative of how well this dude can fight, or how he would approach a fight with vitali or wlad.

his head movement is damn terrible. keeps doing unnecessary little bobs but can't slip a jab at all

Agreed. Movement is one thing but good movement is another entirely. Sometimes, you'll see a fighter who rarely moves his head but then he won't get hit often and people will wonder why such a seemingly static fighter isn't getting hit, and then you get guys like Stiverne who move non-stop yet eat every single punch. The guy who rarely moves his head will have good, economic, clever movement and guys like Stiverne just move to give their opponent somewhat of a moving target yet don't know how to avoid punches properly.

I dont know what his weight was last night but I think if he went on a real solid diet he could be crusier weight material. I am impressed with hsi left hook.

Also has a good chin. Can punch and take a punch thats the foundation right there. Needs conditioning and improvement on defense and u have somethign there,.

The guy is the definition of a stiff, HW boxing is really terrible now, the best contenders are guys moving up from CW.

Your being way too harsh. this guy is no worse than a lamon brewster. In fact he has faster hands..comparable power and chin.

His hands might be heavy but they certainly are NOT fast, easiest fight for Vitali yet.

You probably dont realize it but your being spoiled by watching Vitali. he is a h2h match up for anyone on any given night in the history of the sport. Gte down to earth and appreciate guys who are less than the top of ther sport and you will enjoy boxing a lot more. :good

Brewster was very limited BUT before the injury he was definitely miles ahead of this guy. I don't like Wlad at all but I can't see this guy beating Wlad under any circumstances, he barely beat a very faded Ray Austin. This guy is a stiff with a punch, nothing more.

Stiverne is a easy fight for any top 10 HW, CW or even LHW right now, the man is a stiff, makes Arreola and Peter look world class. He was getting schooled by a faded 40 yr old Journeyman Austin who was never any good to begin with.

No worse than lamon brewster? Wtf?

Brewster has knockout victories over golota and wlad klitschko. Stiverne has a come from behind knockout over ray austin.
