Firstly let's put things in persepctive...

Barrera was not at his best and yes the cut was nasty...

    However...

Is there any chance people can stop giving khan constant crap?

He would've won the fight no matter what...he looked focussed...had a tight defence...he got hit by about 3 punches all fight...alll other punches hit arm/gloves...

In the post fight interview he sounded focussed...didn't overrate the victory and was happy to leave the spotlight...

I don't know if he reads the forums or something but he seemed the opposite of what people on here tend to describe him as...

If he stays focussed, listens to his trainer, and continues to learn he will be a good champion...no doubt about it!

Regardless of the cut he was too big, and miles too quick for barrera tonight...his handspeed was electric...

Good luck Amir...I admire your recovery fromt he defeat and it really was ablessing in disguise...you've matured and if you keep going you will win a world title for sure!

how are you so sure he woulda won anyway? Barrera was badly handicapped from the start with the cut, and besides we all know all it takes is a decent shot and Khan is getting banjoed.
The cut was no worse in the 5th than it was in the 1st and the fact they waited until the 5th to stop the fight stinks and is just laughable.

He was getting the better of barrera from start to finish...

The only way barrera was going to win that fight was by ko and unless Khan lost focus and dropped his hands that wasn't going to happen...

Barrera couldn't stick with the speed...he was being bounced around all over the place...

Forget the chin...it wasn't a factor in this fight in the slightest...I just felt his attitude had changed and he seemed much more focussed and humble...

I still don't think Amir Like's being hit but who does...As his career progresses I think he will take shots better...

Anyoen that didn't see this as an improvement regardless of the fact Barrera was in too high a weightclass and past it is deluding themselves...

I'm not proclaiming the guy is a world beater right now, merely suggesting he has a hell of a lot of potential and if he maintains the current attitude he has that on his side too...

Another thing is that Khan is still raw, and Freddie has made a big change in him after only a few months. If he's training with Pacman and Roach then he can learn a lot and he's shown early signs of being a good learner.

My take was Khan showed a lot, he made the most of the situation, but it was hardly his fault MAB was cut, and what a cut! I have not seen anything like that in a British ring, since Honeyghan/VacaI.

Khan obviously has greatly benefited from having arguably the greatest conerman in the game at the moment there, but Roach did not fight the fight, Amir did. Khan was poised and rarely lost his composure, in a very mature performance.

The down side is, Khan clearly is concerned about his chin and seemed a little skittish sometimes. And on the rare occasions that MAB did connect, he seemed almost relived that he (Khan) took the punches. These are demons that may never leave Khan's game, but I think he will become a little more confident if the victories continue.

Well done Amir Khan, I figured him to win (why else would Warren risk his main man, if he was confident of a victory?), but I did not expect Amir to be so good.

I agree, Khan did what he had to do. If they'd have stopped the fight in the 1st because of the cut people would be crying bull**** because MAB wasn't given a chance to fight on. You just can't win with some people....

the fight left a real bad taste in my mouth.

firstly it all went too acording to script - Barrera got given a cut on purpose in his last fight - and surprise surprise - he gets cut from the get go against Khan.

I'm not saying it was all a set up - but I just felt it was all nicely in place for Khan to win - everything in his favour.

The fight didnt really prove nothing - Barrera didnt seem to do much but just be shielding himself on the ropes unable to see.

Khan wan by a cut - hollow victory for me - he was on top yes - but hollow ending.

And what really pissed me off was Ian Darke. He was in on the whole plot. He set the tone for the night. This fight was all set up to redeem Khan in the public concious. He set the tone that Khan is this superstar and he was almost trying to make out that the Bedis Presscott fight never happened.

It was all a set up - a con - all about trying to make everyone forget Khan was exposed - and that he is still this untouchable superstar. Ian Darke really pissed me off last night with his cheesy bull**** as he tried to brain wash everyone watching that Khan still was this super star kid who cant be touched.

It was a bull**** fight - and I am disappointed with Barreras performance - the cut had alot to do with it - but also there just looked no fire in his belly.
