The guy just beat Mormeck as expected: the frenchman did nothing and Wlad knocked him out early. He was exposed as the poor fighter that he currently is.
It was only a stay busy fight for Wlad, who has already defeated Haye, Chagaev, Byrd twice, Chambers, Ibragimov, Rahman, etc.

Most champs have fought lesser fighters:

Muhammad Ali vs. Richard Dunn, Alfredo Evangelista
Larry Holmes vs. Scott LeDoux, Leroy Jones
Joe Louis vs. Al McCoy, Red Burman
Mike Tyson vs. James Buster Douglas :rofl

During his reign, Jack Johnson fought very mediocre guys like Al Kaufman and Tony Ross. He even fought James Jeffries' corpse, 5 years post-retirement.
Don't make me start talking about Tommy Burns or James Jeffries' reigns as champions.

Give Wlad a break. Nobody is saying this is one of his best victories. It's just a stay busy fight. The problem is that the division has been cleaned and his next opponents might be Arreola or Thompson.

It was a joke of a mismatch & he still fought like a cowardly *****

In my view, it's not his win, or even the choice of opponent as he arguably is limited in choices right now, but to just fight like he did against such a wild card. His constant illegal pushing of his man down, clinching him to death when he even gets within two foot of him, just doesn't sit very comfortable with me.

I do worry how a better quality fighter who can box within range would be treated. Every fighter bends the rules, but allowing Wlad to just keep doing the same thing again and again just leaves a rather unsavoury taste in my mouth.

It's just a bunch of ***gots, I'm not a big fan of Wlad too and I have criticised him in the past but there's a difference between criticism and crying like a ***.

People are reading way too much into this fight, it was just a stay busy fight, there werent many guys willing to fight him, he gave us a nice early ko for a change rather than dragging this out til 10.
This should just be accepted, he will fight guys like arreola and povetkin if they have some balls, the flipside is klitschko fans acting he is the goat because of this, it was nothing special but its good that wladimir is going to be more active this year compared to recent years.

I was never able to get excited about Wlad-Mormeck, I would have preferred he fight someone who is a natural HW. However, several others turned it down, so to keep active, he was left with few options.

Wlad did what he was supposed to do and KOed Mormeck early.

Now, several others like Arreola are saying they are ready to fight Wlad. Mitchell is saying he'll be ready in early 2013. So the next year or so will be more interesting for Wlad.

Wlad is running out of credible opponents. Not his fault. Good points. I especialy like the Buster Douglas insertion. Very clever, wonder how many 'got' that. :thumbsup

Regarding the listing of Ledoux and Jones as woeful challengers, I would just like to point out that Scott LeDoux was a decent enough fringe contender, and that Jones was actually an undefeated and quite talented boxer when he met Holmes. Methinks Scott Frank and Lorenzo Zanon would have been better choices to list for Holmes. :deal

    Regarding Wlad....

It would be nice to see him fight more often, and against an opponent who actually attempts to throw punches on the way in.

That being said, this fight is less an indictment of Wlad, and more of an indictment on how mediocre the division is as a whole. Pretty steep drop-off in terms of quality from the K brothers down is all I'm saying.

its just incredible that he couldnt find a better opponent and the way he hyped him to be faster than tyson. that is inexcusable
