Foster wasnt that great above 175

Marciano would be my pick, followed by Tunney and Spinks

Ezzard Charles would be giving away 10 pounds during his peak years, even Marciano would be a few pounds under.
I'd throw Eddie Machen in as an outside choice

Three that stand above all others...

    Johnson
    Dempsey
    Tunney

True, he was facing some of the best heavyweights while outweighed by alot, and the losses to Mina and Jones were early in his career, But Marciano, Tunney and Spinks proved more around that weight than Bob, (although with Spinks he was below and above the 190) but was able to beat very good fighters above and below it so id imagine him being very good there.

Marciano for me. His pure will to win was incredible. He actually beat 2 other names being tossed about here. I do believe Holy and Tunney might have a shot. Jeez, Dempsey, too. Wish we had films of Greb though. But the Rock takes it for me.

I would have picked Johnson if I thought he could make the weight and be as strong as he was at 208lbs.

My default pick is usually Holyfield.

I'm currently having issues with ranking him much higher than he was ever ranked in his active years though.

No one saw him as a dominant champ better than Dempsey and Marciano in his prime, so why should I think it now 20 years later?
