Froch's best wins: 1. Pascal (A win) 2. Taylor (A win) 3. Dirrell (A- win) Kessler's best wins: 1. Mundine (A win) 2. Andrade (A win) 3. Beyer (A- win) Bute's best wins: 1. Andrade (A win) 2. Bika (B+ win) 2. Berrio (B win) Ward's best wins: 1. Kessler (A+ win) 2. Miranda (B- win) 3. Ravelo (C- win)
Its more like Froch 1. Pascal (B- win) 2. Taylor (B- win) 3. Dirrell (B+ win) Kessler 1. Mundine (C win) 2. Andrade (C win) 3. Beyer (C+ win) Bute 1. Andrade (C win) 2. Berrio (D+ win) 3. Zuniga (C- win) Ward 1. Kessler (B+ win) 2. Miranda (B win) 3. Ravelo (D win) Nobodies proved an A level fighter at SMW. Based on this, I'd say Froch has the greatest argument. Based on resume its 1. Froch 2. Ward 3. Kessler 4. Bute
It seems you allot marks depending on whether you know the fighter or not. Berrio is actually a good fighter - but he fights out of Southamerican and you have probably never seen him fight - I reckon. Also, how can you give Dirrell the highest of all the fighters in there based on a poor resume where the highlights are a disputed loss to Froch and a DQ win over a MW in Abraham? Does that have to do with passport? Dirrell (despite all the talent I also think he has) is still inexperienced and that showed especially in the Froch fight - and he (in your scale) should definitely not be higher than a B- at best). And that would still be too high.... making Mundine who was WBA champion a C while rookie Dirrell who has virtually done nothing is marked higher?? Makes very little sense. I'll stick with my opening allotment.
He's been KO'd by 3 journeymen. Thats all I need to know. If Floyd Mayweather got KO'd by 3 journeymen he wouldnt be a B level fighter, which is about Ricky Hatton level, who was a 2 weight champion and ruled a division for 2 years, but he'd be a D+ level champion like Berrio. Is Berrior Ricky Hatton level? I think not. Lets leave the high rankings for fighters who accomplish things in the sport and dont get KO'd 5 times. No it has to do with his performances. He arguably beat Froch, a world champion and then upset the favorite to win the super six and top rated fighter in the division, who has quality victories over Jermain Taylor and Edison Miranda. Did Abraham become nothing more then a MW when Dirrell beat him? :rofl I did rate Dirrell ahead of Kessler, then I realized it wouldnt be fair to Kessler even though I believe Dirrell gives him a shellacking if they ever fought, so I brought it back down to B+. You see this is something that you dont realize and most people who follow the SMW's over the last 10 years. Nobody cares about paper belts. I found a WBA title in my cereal box yesterday, doesnt mean a thing. Dirrell has had better performances against top class opposition then Miranda, thus he rankes a place higher. Its not hard. The fact that Dirrell and Ward have already established themselves as perhaps 1 and 2 in the division, shows how bad the division has been over the years. Those who get knocked out by journeymen get rated as such. You dont get points for being KO'd 5 times and just happening to beat the great champion Robert Stieglitz, doesnt work like that in the real boxing world.
